The Case for Fate Refused (1):
Coming home to find Chigurh (Javier Barden) in her house, Carla Jean (Kelly Macdonald) pleads for her life despite knowing how unlikely it was she would be spared. Given the opportunity to decide her fate by coin, Carle Jean refuses - forcing Chigurh to make the decision himself.
The Case for Mahjong:
In this climactic scene, Rachel (Constance Wu) plays mahjong against Eleanor (Michelle Yeoh) while discussing her relationship with Nick (Henry Golding). As the game is played, Rachel confronts Eleanor about her treatment, and also lets Eleanor know that she is bowing out not because she can't win, but because Eleanor has made sure that Nick loses - demonstrating her point within the game as well.
