In a scene that scarred a generation - possibly because of all the practical effects used - we meet the main group of characters we'll be interacting with this movie, and the premonition that shows the fate they managed to avoid.
The Case for Turning Heads:
As Father Merrin (Max von Sydow) and Father Karras (Jason Miller) try to force the demon out of Regan (Linda Blair, with Mercedes McCambridge providing the voice), Father Karras watches impossible things happen as the demon tries to distract the priests from their mission.
