There's so much to love about this scene: the poor acting, the nonsensical writing, even the terrible CGI. But the best part may be the complete obliviousness of Thad (Ian Reed Kesler) to the giant animal making lots of noise behind him.

Setting the tone, and providing a handy bit of exposition, this opening scene of The Fog is a perfect way to start this tribute to old-time ghost stories: A group of children gathered around a campfire hearing of a tragedy that alludes to - but doesn't reveal - the reason that the fog comes rolling in....
