Believing he has been given wrong medication - and wanting to protect her -  Harlan (Christopher Plummer) gives Marta (Ana de Armas) an almost foolproof plan to eliminate her as a suspect entirely. Though some parts feature missteps, she follows his instructions as best she can, right up until the end.

A plan is hatched to hide from the creatures in Ron's weed room, prompting Samantha (Jodie Whittaker) to ask what that is, followed by a hilariously succinct answer from Brewis.

There's something to be said for a movie that knows what it is, and Critters 2 demonstrates that quite effectively in this darkly amusing turn of events: A man dressed as the Easter bunny (David Ursin) encounters the titular critters and leaps through a window at just the perfect moment in the reverend's (Frank Birney) sermon.

While the characters have been introduced beforehand, this first song from Dreamgirls demonstrates the talents of the Dreamettes (Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé Knowles, and Anika Noni Rose) and the songwriting skill of CC White (Keith Robinson).  It also lets the audience know that they are in for some amazing musical numbers.

Welcome to the New Movie Scene Battles!

Previously run on The Angry Gay before being given a new home at the previous Movie Scene Battle blog, we now have a brand new home to restart the battle between various movie scenes.

And I do mean a restart: No scenes are retired, no scenes are restricted for already being used - this is a clean reset.  The rules remain the same: Two scenes are presented and voted on, with the winner advancing to the next day.  That scene remains the Champion until it loses or reaches 7 wins, at which point it will be retired.

I welcome user submissions for scenes, with an email dedicated specifically to them.  Just be sure to read the Submission Rules before doing so!

Here's to the restart after almost 4 years(!?!) away.

Submission Rules

A handy guide for submitting scenes to be used in future battles!

1)  Give me the movie title, year, and scene
In many cases, I'm going to have to search for the scene on YouTube, so please don't make this hard by forcing me to guess which movie you are referring to when there are so many remakes out there.

2)  Be clear which scene you mean
If you submit 'Jaws 1975 - Shark Attack' I am not going to know which one you mean.  Be specific!

3)  If you have a clever name for the scene, please include it
Coming up with a title - without repeating myself - is sometimes a challenge, so if you have a clever title in mind, include it!  There's a good chance I will use it to save myself some effort.

4)  Please let me know how you would like to be credited
It can be your name, a username, whatever, just let me know how to credit you when the scene posts.  And preferring not to be credited is an option, just let me know!  In the event you have a Twitch, blog, etc, I can and will hyperlink to it also - so be sure to include that!

5)  Make the scene safe-ish for work
On the off chance someone is using their work device to vote, please don't put them in the awkward position of having an explicit sex scene or exceptionally gory scene pop up.  In the event that one does cross that line, I will let you know.

6)  Please make the case for the scene
There is a whole section dedicated to the reason the scene should win!  While I can and do fill that out when there is no case with the scene submission, I want to hear why you think it deserves to win!

7)  Encourage others to vote
You've gone through all of the work to submit a scene, so you should encourage others to participate!  The more the merrier, and it might even help me get more submissions!
